The Coloured Canyon

In the mountains of the Sinai you can find many canyons, most of them only known by the local Bedouins. Some of the best canyons are visited on guided tours with a Bedouin guide. Besides the white, red or bridge canyon the "Coloured canyon" is the most popular one.

Leave the roads and cross the desert to the entrance of the Coloured canyon; like a joke of nature, rocks of the canyon with their bizarre forms and colours are lying in front of you. Snow-white rocks with surprising and strange details, like the so-called elephant feet, change with unique color combinations and washed out rocks, which resulted from sand and wind erosion.

You will have a nice 1,5 hrs walk through this amazing and fascinating rocky canyon, hand made by god. We recommend to wear firm footwear, as well as clothing with long arms and legs.
